The Assembley

Today we had Tyler Durham speak infront of the entire school, and I just wanted to say that he was Incredible. I found that he talked about Real issues, and even already, I look around and I see a change. (It's the small things that count, right?)

I found that what Tyler spoke about was a very touchy subject, and I thought that the Way he spoke about the issues was..perfect. He was very gentle-spoken when he talked about the stories and he was gentle at the right times. But then he was energetic and enthusiastic at the right times as well. And when things felt like they got to intense, Tyler told a joke and made everyone laugh, but he made the jokes at appropriate times and it almost felt needed when he made the jokes.

I feel motivated to DO something, and make people feel wanted and welcomed.
I felt like I could relate to everything that Tyler was saying about the whole Dad thing. I've personally had a lot of issues with my dad, and although I don't cut, or want to kill myself, and I talk to people about it, I feel like it really hit home there.

Overall, I think that the assembly was INCREDIBLE and I'm sure well-needed. It's always good to have an assembley that pumps people up to make a change. WELL DONE W-O!

Song of the MONTH.

Without You lyrics

If I had my way,
I'd spend every day right by your side
And if I could stop time,
believe me I'd try for you and I
And each moment you're gone,
Is a moment to long in my life
So stay right here, right now

[Chorus]
'Cause without you I'm a disaster
(The moment you go)
And your my ever after
(Just thought you should know)
'Cause I need to know your answer
(Just say you'll stay with me)
I want you to say your gonna stay with me
(Just say you'll stay with me)
I die every day that you're away from me

If the world ceased to spin,
You could start it again with just one smile
If the seas turn to sand,
With the wave of your hand it would rain for miles
But the thought of you gone
Makes everything wrong in my life
So stay right here, right now

[Chorus]
'Cause without you I'm a disaster
(The moment you go)
And you're my ever after
(Just thought you should know)
'Cause I need to know your answer
(Just say you'll stay with me)
I want you to say your gonna stay with me
(Just say you'll stay with me)
I die every day that you're away from me

My heart breaks with every beat,
I can't explain what you do to me
So just say you'll promise me,
Please, take me if you ever leave
But the thought of you gone
Makes everything wrong in my life
So stay right here, right now

[Chorus]
'Cause without you I'm a disaster
(The moment you go)
And you're my ever after
(Just thought you should know)
'Cause I need to know your answer
(Just say you'll stay with me)
I want you to say your gonna stay with me
(Just say you'll stay with me)
I die every day that you're away from me

So just say you'll promise me,
Please, take me if you ever leave
My heart breaks with every beat,
I die everyday that you're away from me

I really enjoy this song, but mostly because I find the lyrics adorable. I enjoy the first verse the most, but I do like the lyrics A LOT.
I can't help but wonder though, should someone who can actually Sing should be singing this song? This guy just whines and it's kinda.. brutial? Like, it's be an amazing song if it wasn't so whiney though.

The Computation by John Donne

For my first twenty years, since yesterday,
I scarce believed thou couldst be gone away ;
For forty more I fed on favours past,
And forty on hopes that thou wouldst they might last ;
Tears drown'd one hundred, and sighs blew out two ;
A thousand, I did neither think nor do,
Or not divide, all being one thought of you ;
Or in a thousand more, forgot that too.
Yet call not this long life ; but think that I
Am, by being dead, immortal ; can ghosts die ?

This is the poem that John Donne wrote and I find this one kinda neat. I like the way that the last words rhyme, and I like the way that you have to read it a few times in order to understand it. You can't just read it once and get the full summary and/or analogy. I also like the fact that it talks about the past, present and future in this poem. I think that it's really cool. I also like how this author does not talk in modern day language. Yes, it makes it a little more difficult to understand, but I think that the way this poem is worded is incredibly done. I didn't really find anything that stuck out as "odd" sounding; it all just seemed to flow. I also liked the fact that the author ends the poem with a question, which envokes the reader to think about the poem, even after it is done. It causes the reader to wonder, and see the author's point of view. And for this reason, I enjoy this poem.
(Funny thing, when I first read it, I knew that I liked the poem, but it wasn't until I had to start writting WHY I liked it that I really figured it out. Neat, eh?)
For anyone who still doesn't understand this poem, it basically talks about this man who sent his lover back to the 24th century 24 hours ago. Then he talks about how sad he is and then he thinks back to his memories of her, and hopes that this will somehow bring her back. Then it talks about how long that he lives, and because he doesn't have his lover, he's been living hollow like a "ghost" and wonders if ghosts can ever die.
