shorten education time?

I hate it. School is the same thing every year, the same business and the same time that is wasted. We sit in classrooms for 6 hours a day and listen to someone yap away. There are people who fall asleep every class, and people who day dream. There's the people who text and talk and pass notes and listen to ipods.
There are the nerds who sit there and take notes every class-even when the teacher says that you don't need to write it down.
And many who think school is a waste of time.

What is all of elementary school for? To prepared students for high school and to teach them manditory skills such as reading, writting  and math.
Once high school is reached, all of high school is to prepared you for university or college or the workplace. And once university or college hits, it's just to prepare you for the job you want.
Does it not seem like all this preparation is unecessary?
I feel like we could shorten the pathway to education-yes i believe that an education is important, but i also feel like the amount of time we take learning about things that we will never touch again is rediculous. Elementary school could be shortened, then high school could only be 2 years, then universary or college could be 2 or 3 years and we could enter the workforce doing something that we love.
Yes, i have considered that the age that would be required to pick a career is a lot younger, but let's face it-the average person changes their career at least 3 times in their lifetime. If we are changing our careers that often, why not start earlier so you can find your true calling earlier?
That way there, students are more motivated to committ their time because school does not take that long.
The basic reading, writting and math would be covered and we would not have people like myself with a 3-year science basis-WHEN I WILL NEVER NEED TO USE SCIENCE IN MY LIFETIME AGAIN.
It's coarses that are "manditory" now that cause so many years of school.

I feel like schooling takes way too long, and maybe you don't agree, but I know that many students and parents would agree with me.
And just think of the money we would save!

The Last Song.

Going through all of my posts, and publishing them all the unfinished posts, I noticed a common theme...COUNTRY! So for the last song that I will be publishing, I chose to pick two that seemed to follow the trend.
This song is called "I'm from the Country" by Tracy Byrd. I love these lyrics and it's an upbeat song that I love listening to.

Way back up in the country, back in the hills
Down in the hollers where the folks are real
Livin’ with the crazzies and the old wildcats
Sawed off shotguns and coonskin caps
That’s where I’m from and I’m proud to say
I’m from the country and I like it that way

Everybody knows everybody, everybody calls you friend
You don’t need an invitation, kick off your shoes come on in
Yeah, we know how to work and we know how to play
We’re from the country and we like it that way

All day long we work in the fields
Then bring it on home to a home cooked meal
We love ya like Sunday, treat ya like Saturday night
And when the bed gets full we can sleep in the hay (hey)
We’re from the country and we like it that way

Everybody knows everybody, everybody calls you friend
You don’t need an invitation, kick off your shoes come on in
Yeah, we know how to work and we know how to play
We’re from the country and we like it that way

Everybody knows everybody, everybody calls you friend
You don’t need an invitation, kick off your shoes come on in
Yeah, we know how to work and we know how to play
We’re from the country
We’re from the country
We’re from the country and we like it that way

The last song that I will ever pick is a song called "Hard Hat and a Hammer" and it's by Alan Jackson. I love this song because it is just So simple minded, and it doesn't matter how sad or mad I am, my boyfriend plays this song, and he always makes me smile. I hope that you guys enjoy this song as much as I do. It actually took me a couple times listening to it, before I started to enjoy it, because it's not super catchy, but it's probably one of my favourite songs now and it's Never over-played on the radios. Enjoy guys!

..okay, so the computer won't load the lyrics and it's time to go.. So just look it up!!

Country vs. City

 vs.

The Good Ol' Country                                      vs.         The Great City Life

I've lived in the city almost all of my life.. Well as much as New Hamburg is considered a city. But, I've lived in subdivisions and such for most of my life, and I've been around the farm life almost as long. My best friend lives on a farm, and so does my boyfriend.
I just got to thinking, which do I think is better?
Most kid's in the country say that they would much rather prefer to live in the city. The claims are that in the city, you save money on gas, because you can walk a lot. Children can walk to their friends house or go for some ice cream. They can have BBQ's with their neighbours and they can sit and watch some TV. They seem to have time to relax, and there are just house chores to do. When the city folk mow their grass, it typically doesn't take too long. The city life seems great!!
The city kids wish they lived on a farm because there is so much to do!! You don't NEED to watch TV because you can go outside and play cowboys and Indians on all the space-you never get bored! There are a lot of animals to hang around with, and big hot meals. There is  horseback riding, swimming, running around, shooting paint ball guns, airsoft guns, or even the real kind of guns! There is space to be away from your family, and camp fires and guitars that are played. Life just seems so more relaxed in the country because there is not near as much chaos. People are simple minded.

In weighing all of the pro's and con's, and figuring out which of these things said are just sterio types and which are the real deal, I've decided that the city is not for me. I feel free when I'm in the country, like my soul has returned to me... I feel like one can figure out who they want to be, and just sit under the stars. I love the fact that there is always work that needs doing, or a fence that needs fixing. I love getting up early and feeding the animals-even though it can be a pain, you get to see the sun rise in the mornings, and it's a type of feeling that one cannot replicate. I find that in the country, I feel whole.
So call me a hick, but I'll take my cowboy boots and cowboy hat and walk around this town proud. Because I know where my soul's headed, and I know where it's been, and I love the sounds of the future.

Summer time

Horses, Humming Birds and Hibicus-all the signs of summer. The blooming, vibrant colours, and the sweet scents that they give off. The Humming bird who zips around and flaps it's wings so fast that they are almost impoosible to see. And the gorgeous, majestical horses that provides services and healing for us humans.
I just bought a horse, his name is Simba. He is a darker bay, and he is GORGEOUS. He is 1/2 morgan, 1/4 arabian and 1/4 quarter horse. He is solid and a bit stubborn and I love him to death. He isn't completely broke, but I kind of wanted that so that I can break him myself too. (Like a summer project) So that's what I'll be doing all summer.
I also will be spending my weekends working at Decorating Dreams. We decorate for weddings, proms, birthday parties, etc. and it is Just Gorgeous!! I love working there. :)
And all of my extra time will be spent with my handsome boyfriend :D <3 He will be working construction during the day, and so that's when I'll spend time with my horse. And when he comes home, I'll be spending my time with him,
(It's our 5 month soon, and I plan on taking him canoeing and then for a picnic. I'm pretty excited!)
I hope that the summer is hot, and not so buggy. I hate it when the misquitos are out and hungry.
I also can't wait to be OUT OF SCHOOL!!! WOOOOHOOOO!! ...Until September. I will be coming back for a 5th year, but it'll be good because all of my friends are staying back too.
My life is constantly changing and I cannot wait to see what this summer will hold for me :)
